Norwalk Education FoundationThe Norwalk Education Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization committed to quality public education for all of Norwalk’s children. We effect positive change by providing programs and funds for innovative classroom instruction, teacher and technology training, and a variety of learning opportunities beyond the school day. MentoringMentoring – the presence of caring adults offering support, advice, friendship, reinforcement and constructive examples – has proved to be a powerful tool for helping young people fulfill their potential.
Mentoring can help by improving young people’s attitudes towards their parents, peers and teachers; encouraging students to stay motivated and focused on their education; providing a positive way for young people to spend free time; helping young people face daily challenges; and offering young people opportunities to consider new career paths and get much-needed economic skills and knowledge Family & Children's AgencyFamily & Children’s Agency (FCA) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), family service agency that meets the needs of more than 10,000 individuals--including children, adults, and families--throughout Fairfield County and beyond. Skilled professionals serve clients in seven primary impact areas: youth development, family strengthening, foster care, adoption, behavioral health, homeless service, and services for seniors. Eighty-nine cents of every dollar given to FCA directly benefits those in need in our community.
