Library Media Center
I am proud to welcome all students/parents to another exciting school year - 2011-2012. The media center has many wonderful things to offer such as: e-books which can be checked-out like a regular book and read in the classroom or computer lab; TrueFlix (an online subscription where non-fiction books can be accessed and read aloud with a short video relating to the topic; A to Z Learning; Study Island; and AV Books.
Each classroom has weekly library classes which are held for 45 minutes. At the beginning of each class, students share a book they have chosen from the CMS library. Each share is recorded and placed on this year's theme wall, "R- E - S - P - E - C - T is COOl ".
K-1 are allowed one book to check out each week. Grades 2-5 are allowed two books, a chapter book and a fun book.
Computer classes are held once a week in the computer lab. Classes are one hour in length and are led by teachers and assistants of each class.
The computer lab has a SmartBoard to play videos, display interactive lesson plans and other curriculum related activities. It is a wonderful resource.
I'm am always looking for volunteers to help with reshelving books, cataloging and reading stories to the classes. Please contact me via email or by phone if you are interested in helping.
