Mission Title: Flight Surgeon

Chris Lea has attended Columbus Magnet School since Kindergarten and has been in the Young Astronauts program for five years since first grade.

Chris has a twin sister named Mackenzie who is also in the mission. He has an older sister, Victoria, who took part in the 2003 mission called Lunar Voyage. Chris hopes that our mission is 10X better then hers!  He is excited about being part of this year’s mission team, working hard in physical training and plans to be a smart as he can!

Christopher’s school accomplishments include being in the Artistically Talented program since third grade. During fifth grade, he was picked to be on Safety Patrol and entered the Science Fair for the first time. Chris has been honored every year for perfect attendance at Columbus.

Chris admires his teacher, Miss Katy, because she is smart, hard working and has a great sense of humor, and also Mr. Pearce, who inspires Chris never to give up.

Outside of school, Chris is in the choir at St Paul’s on the Green. He has been singing with the choir for 2 ½ years and enjoys performing and is frequently called upon to solo. He has traveled to England with the choir, where they sang at six different cathedrals through out Britain.  Recently, Chris performed in the St. Paul’s production of ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’.

Chris enjoys many things, but is focusing on drawing, writing, music and singing. Chris has been taking piano lessons for two years. Chris is planning to be a fashion designer and author, seeking to utilize both his talents and interests in the future. Chris has written a series  of stories called ‘Magical Places’, and is now working on a new story called ‘Castaway’.
