Mission Title: Flight Director

Emma Spahr has been at Columbus Middle School since kindergarten.

While in third grade she served as an usher during All School Meetings.  She is in the Academically Talented Program, Safety Patrol, String (orchestra), 5th grade chorus and Girl Scouts as an after school program.

Emma recently participated in the science fair and got 2nd place, which means she will go to the citywide competition.

Emma participates in many sports outside of school such as soccer, softball, swimming and gymnastics.  Emma has won many medals and ribbons for gymnastics.

When she grows up she wants to be a veterinarian for endangered animals such as polar bears, orangutans and tigers.

Emma has been looking up to Young Astronaut mission members since she was in kindergarten.  She is so grateful that she gets to be in the Mission now and have younger children look up to her.  Emma is so excited that this Mission the astronauts are going to the moon.

Emma thinks that the Young Astronauts Program is a good opportunity for her to learn a lot about space.  She enjoys the Young Astronaut training, even though at times it can be tough.

Emma looks up to her parents because they are the best and they are great people to look up to.  Emma’s words of advice for future Young Astronauts is to never give up, to keep trying and to always work together as a team.
