 Mission Update, May 7, 2009. 3:30pm

Good afternoon, this is Flight Director, Emma Spahr. Both Public Affairs Officers, are currently de-briefing the press at this historic moment.

The Eagle has landed! The lunar module, Eagle, has landed on the moon’s surface! An EVA is currently in progress, as four astronauts explore the Sea of Tranquility.

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” With these words, commander, Wylie Makovsky, stepped onto the moon’s surface and re-lived the glory of Apollo 11 from 40 years ago. He was followed onto the lunar surface by lunar module pilot, Jessica Magnoli, and astronauts, Anika Chatterjee and Jake Yonkers.

The moon walkers report that the moon is place of stark and barren beauty. They further report that the earth represents the only color they see in the universe.

To repeat, the lunar module, Eagle, has landed, and the crew is performing an extravehicular activity on the moon’s surface.
