Mission Title: Commander

Wylie Makovsky is a very active and well rounded person.  He has accomplished many things in his life:
 
• Wylie invented a cleat cleaner.  
• He is in his third year of student council and he was the secretary one year.
• Wylie is in A.T. (academically talented).
• Wylie's pillow was chosen for the art show at city hall.
• He delivered Easter baskets to under privileged children with Al's Angels.
• Wylie can play over seven songs on his guitar.
• He was a Cub Scout for two years and served his community during that time as well as learning many skills for life.
• Wylie participated in Young Astronauts 1st-4th grades and he is currently in his fifth year.
• Wylie has been nominated for the National Young Scholars Program.
•  He made his first holy communion at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk.
• Wylie attended a 4H camp for a week in each summer of 2007 and 2008.
 
 
Wylie enjoys many sports:
 
• Hockey – has played for four years in all positions and once played goalie. 
• Lacrosse- has played lacrosse for three years.
• Soccer – played three years as a forward and two years as a goalie.
• Skiing- has skied for seven years.
• He is a very fast runner he did the mile in seven minutes and 31 seconds.

Leadership skills:

• Wylie is a very good leader and can work well with others.
• Wylie is very good at all subjects in school except when it comes to typing, but he can do the work very good in an orderly fashion.
• He has only had less than six spelling tests below 100% in his life.
 
 
 
Goals for the mission:
 
Wylie has several goals for the mission. He hopes that he can do his job to the best of his ability and help make the mission to be very successful. Wylie wants to get a good feel for what an actual space mission is like and he hopes that he can learn how to respond and make good decisions in critical situations. Wylie hopes that he can help everyone else on the mission do their best by helping where he can. Wylie also hopes that his team gets to the moon quickly and safely and has complete success in all of their experiments and tests.  Last, but not least, Wylie hopes that the mission helps make him a better person with the skills he learns and the experience he gains. (Wylie thinks that Luna Redux is a very creative name for the mission). 
 
 
Aspirations:
 
There are a few jobs that appeal to Wylie and he hasn't made a final decision, however, he is deciding between being an astronaut commanding shuttle missions, a mechanical engineer for the military designing weapons or a doctor with an MD and 4 PhDs including science and nutrition. Wylie may also try to become a professional lacrosse or hockey player.      
        

    Person he admires:
 
Wylie's hero is his Dad. His Dad is his hero because he is always helping anyone when they need help. He always has a good attitude. He is very resourceful. He always knows what to do. He is a great person.
