The staff at Naramake is extremely collegial and collaborative. They welcome new members with open arms. Each staff member is helpful and supportive.
The staff at Naramake consists of Kindergarten through fifth grade teachers, two Special Education teachers and many aides to support their programs. Naramake has a mainstreamed SED classroom throughout all grades. These students for the most part are assigned an aide to assist them in the regular education classroom. The staff also consists of one teacher in each of the following areas: gym, art, music and part time string teacher. In terms of support staff, Naramake has one nurse, a social worker, a psychologist, a speech pathologist and an English as a Second Language teacher. All these positions are shared with other schools, meaning these people are not within the building every day with the exception of the nurse. Furthermore, Naramake has a program for the deaf in which there have been aides placed in the classroom in accordance of the State of Connecticut's Regulations. In reference to aides within the classroom, each Kindergarten teacher has an aide, and first grade has a Project Excel aide to assist them. Naramake is fortunate to have so many people working with the students. This type of atmosphere and added help benefits the students as well as the teachers. Any student or parent lucky enough to be involved with the school will truly see the nature behind Naramake's philosophy and mission statement.
