Norwalk High School, in partnership with its diverse community, is committed to provide an education in an atmosphere of mutual respect. In order to encourage intellectual, ethical, social, and physical growth, the individual needs of students will be recognized so that the highest expectations held by all will be achieved. As students participate in a learner-centered environment, they will be encouraged to be aggressive, active learners, so that they can become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and effective communicators. With these skills, the student will have the tools to adapt to the ever-changing technology of our multicultural society.
Consistent with this philosophy, representatives from the community, Board of Education, faculty, and students have determined intellectual, ethical, social and physical goals. |

Community: Norwalk is located in the southwest corner of Connecticut, 45 minutes from New York City. The community, both suburban and industrial, is composed to all socioeconomic levels and many cultural and ethnic orientations. Norwalk High School is representative of the community.
School Size: Norwalk High School is a four-year comprehensive high school. The building, located on a 35-acre site, admitted it first class in September of 1971. In 2004, Norwalk High School received a renewal of its accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Student enrollment: 1,651; Professional Staff: 139.
Norwalk High School offers 13 Advanced Placement Courses and 21 Honors Courses. 90% of the Class of 2006 went on to 2 or 4-year colleges, 5.4% to various occupations and the Armed Forces. Click here for the school profile. |
