SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are listed in Naviance, a computer program for Career and College exploration. Students are given a password to Naviance by their counselor. Seniors are encouraged to visit the site regularly. Some scholarships have a direct link to a website, and others have a paper application that can be picked up in the Guidance Career Center 209C.

About the scholarships:
Norwalk High School Scholarship Fund: Common Scholarship
(Click HERE for 2010-11 NHS Common Scholarship application. It is available beginning on January 1st. Students
may download a copy or see their Guidance Counselor or Career Center 209C for a copy.)
The Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance to graduates who are planning to continue their education at two or four year schools.
Corporations, local merchants, civic groups, community members, faculty and parents contribute scholarships to this fund. The Norwalk High School Scholarship Committee selects recipients based on financial need contributions to the community, contributions to the school and academic interest/achievement. To apply for these scholarships, students must complete a Norwalk High School Common Scholarship Application on Naviance Family Connection which is generally available on January 1st of the student’s senior year. The scholarships are presented at the Norwalk High School Scholarship Ceremony in late May.
Outside Scholarships
Applications for various private scholarships are sent to Norwalk High School and made available to every member of the senior class through Naviance Family Connection. The private donors select winners based on their own criteria.
The WEB
There are many financial aid resources online with searchable databases. U.S. Dept of Education Student Aid on the Web. A good link to most of these sites can be found at the CT Department of Higher Education Web Site www.ctdhe.org under Students and Parents.
If you are a college student or getting ready to become one, you probably already know how useful additional money can be. Our youth really could use these scholarships.
